Uppiddee 379 x 269

A Donegal Gaeltacht company based on the Údarás na Gaeltachta owned business park in Downings has been shortlisted for the AIB Start-up Academy award. The award is a joint venture between The Irish Times and AIB that aims to support start-up ventures by providing them with expert information and networking opportunities.

Uppiddee, provides an online wellbeing software solution for colleges, sports teams and businesses that gathers and analyses cognitive wellbeing data to improve performance and retention. It has been described as 'fitbit for the mind’.

More than 400 start-ups from all over Ireland applied for this year’s AIB Start-up Academy and the judges chose Uppiddee as one of those to shortlist. The successful candidates have all completed a pitch deck, which will be used to further shortlist the candidates on Friday, 29th January. The successful shortlist of candidates will then be required to complete an elevator pitch to the judging panel in early February, from which 11 finalists will be chosen to participate in the Start-Up Academy Programme.

Uppiddee has just completed a very successful pilot with Letterkenny Institute of Technology (LYIT). The progressive and successful collaboration with LYIT has allowed Uppiddee to initiate discussions with 10 more third level institutions in Ireland and the UK.  The company is now in talks with major organisations like Version1, Coca-Cola and CIE Group and a number of professional and amateur sports teams in Ireland and the UK.

From its base in Downings, Uppiddee hopes to improve cognitive wellbeing and performance around the world.
